SomVita Suites has a rich history to look back on that began in 1963 with the opening of Garni Somvi. Founded by Anna-Maria and Josef Somvi, the establishment has always stood out thanks to its extensive range of services and panoramic views of the city of Merano/Meran. Building on this success and at the same time breaking new, innovative ground was the aim of their son Alexander. After much planning, the idea for SomVita Suites was born – complete with a four-pillar concept: vibes, views, vita, vino.
With the change of generations, a breath of fresh air swept through the hotel, and a new concept was needed: Alexander Somvi pursued a clear vision of keeping the establishment open all year round – and not just for hotel guests. Instead, he wanted to open the restaurant to the public and turn the hotel bar into a place to wind down after work and savour a good glass of wine.
The result is a year-round meeting point – open, inviting and bustling. A welcome addition to Tirolo/Dorf Tirol, where many hotels remain closed out of season, meaning culinary offerings are far and few between. Together with the developer, we successfully planned and finalised this forward-looking project.
