Gourmet cuisine steeped in history – a taste of tradition

These walls are rich in history. This is a place where true rest and relaxation come first, along with authentic hospitality. The Weisses Kreuz Design Hotel in the Venosta/Vinschgau valley is no destination for flashy holiday crowds – it is a retreat for those seeking quiet relaxation and indulgence. For those who appreciate the soothing charm of Gothic parlours and chic Renaissance rooms.

And for the palate? Trust chef de cuisine Marc Bernhart to work his magic in serving up unique culinary creations. The concept is inspired by Alpine cooking traditions, Mediterranean indulgences and international highlights.

A particular challenge was to redesign the existing kitchen while retaining large parts of the original structure. At the request of head chef Marc Bernhart, the new gourmet kitchen needed to be harmoniously integrated into the original space and from there transformed into a central component of the restaurant.

Planning the buffet area and the cold rooms for wine, Speck and cheese was an equally ambitious task: not only did they need to be highly functional, they also had to blend elegantly into the room while remaining fully visible – an endeavour that required the utmost precision from a design and technical perspective.
